Shalom Rav

Shalom Rav

The translation of the Hebrew words in this painting are: “Shalom rav al Yisrael am”cha tasim l’olam Establish abundant peace upon Your people Yisrael forever”.

When I had my daughter it was one of the most spiritual experiences of my life. I would look around at people and marvel. “Everyone is someone’s baby.” What if we all looked at each other that way? Would there be peace? I also created this because there is a special peace that cannot be described when you look at your newborn.

Here is the rest of the prayer that this painting was inspired from.

Shalom rav al Yisrael am’cha tasim l’olam Establish abundant peace upon Your people Ysrael forever, ki atah hu Melech Adon l’chol ha-shalom for You are King, Master of all peace. V’tov b”einecha l’einecha l’vareich et am’cha Yisrael b’chol et uv’chol sha’ah bish-lomecha May it be good in Your eyes to bless Your people Ysrael at every time and every hour with Your shalom. Baruch atah Hashem ham’varech et amo Yisrael ba-shalom Blessed are You, Hashem, Who blesses His people Yisrael with peace.
